Purpose:

The Stewarding Supervisor is an extension of the culinary team responsible for supervising the Stewarding staff and for performing operational duties primarily within non-food production areas of the kitchen, to include the dish room, storage areas and other utility areas. The Steward Supervisor will be knowledgeable of and responsible for upholding Performance Hospitality standards for proper food handling and sanitation. They will support culinary operations by providing assistance to the kitchen staff with various tasks as needed, support the banquet and buffet staff as needed, and assist with the proper washing and storage of china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, and other food service equipment items.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in managing the facility’s Stewarding function and its staff members; support overall food and beverage operations by participating as part of the culinary team.
  • Ensure that standards for health, safety, cleanliness and sanitation are maintained throughout Stewarding areas.
  • Assist with control of inventory and with storage and distribution of supplies.
  • Ensure Stewarding and Kitchen equipment are properly maintained.
  • Contribute to goal of 100% customer satisfaction through personal commitment to customer service and leading the culinary team by example.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one (1) year previous experience is a must.

Command of the English language both written and verbal. Well organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Always maintain a professional appearance and manner. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Ability to work beyond standard hours when necessary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the guests’ needs. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one (1) year hospitality experience.
