Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and sterility of medical equipment and instruments. Your expertise in physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, aseptic technique, and Sterile Processing will be essential in maintaining a safe and sterile environment for patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment following established protocols and guidelines
- Inspect instruments for damage or defects and report any issues to the appropriate personnel
- Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets according to specific instructions
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for procedures
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infections
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of sterile supplies
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of human physiology and anatomy
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Proficient in aseptic technique and Sterile Processing procedures
- Attention to detail to ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of instruments
- Ability to operate sterilization equipment effectively and safely
- Excellent organizational skills to manage instrument trays and surgical sets
