Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and sterility of medical equipment and instruments. This is an important position that directly impacts patient safety and the overall effectiveness of medical procedures.
Duties:
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment using appropriate techniques and solutions
- Inspect instruments for damage or defects and report any issues to the supervisor
- Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets according to established protocols
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, sonic cleaners, and gas plasma sterilizers
- Monitor and document sterilization cycles to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and order replacements as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for procedures
- Adhere to strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Follow proper handling, storage, and disposal procedures for contaminated items
Skills:
- Proficient in Sterile Processing techniques and procedures
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Good communication skills for collaboration with healthcare professionals
