We are looking for a person who will:

Serve as KLJ’s Traffic Engineering boots on the ground for local go-to services, supported by our full-service team of engineers and planners.

Apply talents and ability to work with your network of peers, partners, and clients to find projects and future co-workers!

Perform Traffic Impact Studies, Corridor Studies, and Safety Analysis, and support other projects requiring Traffic Engineering, such as alternatives analysis, preliminary design, funding applications, and other disciplines that require Traffic Engineering support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Traffic Support to Design: Provide logical solutions that provide the safest, and most efficient geometrics to accommodate anticipated demand. Develop creative and imaginative geometric designs, road markings, and signage solutions that transform bustling streets into an organized dance of vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians.
  • Data Expert: Leverage data analytics and simulations to inform your decision-making process and optimize traffic patterns. Embrace cutting-edge technologies to predict and respond dynamically to changing traffic demands.
  • Community Liaison: Collaborate with local stakeholders, city officials, and citizens to understand their unique transportation needs and foster strong community engagement in your projects.
  • Innovation Ambassador: Keep your finger on the pulse of the latest Traffic Engineering trends and emerging technologies. Proactively propose innovative solutions to propel our cities into the future of transportation.
  • Safety Expert: Prioritize safety in all your designs and recommendations, striving to maximize safety and create a pedestrian-friendly urban environment.
  • Traffic Analysis: Analyze traffic patterns and identify bottlenecks, then develop strategic plans to untangle congestion and provide seamless transportation experiences.
  • Urban Transformer: Collaborate with urban planners and architects to create sustainable, efficient, visually appealing urban spaces prioritizing mobility and accessibility.
  • Signal Timing: Plan and design traffic signal timings, phasing, and coordination strategies to orchestrate a smooth flow of vehicles and pedestrians, turning traffic congestions into harmonious symphonies.

Required Qualifications:

  • PE with eligibility to be registered in multiple states, and at least 10 years of experience. PTOE preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in Traffic Engineering, transportation planning, or urban mobility projects.
  • Experience with the Colorado Department of Transportation or Counties preferred, not required
  • Proficiency in Traffic Engineering software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA) and GIS tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a flair for creativity.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner.

The salary for this position is expected to range between $104,850 and $124,150. This estimated salary represents the middle of the range. Factors that may be used to determine actual salary include education (or applicable experience), training, job location, competencies relevant to the role, and internal equity.
