Starter/Marshal

Yorba Linda Country Club is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of part-time Starter/Marshal. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused in providing superior service.

Pay Range: $15.50 - $17.00 / hour
Key Responsibilities of the Starter:

• Greet EVERY member by name/ Introduce yourself to any Member you have not met.
• Maintain a positive attitude (Thank players for being here and wish them a great game.
• Walk Range/ Putting Green/ Tee observing and ensuring all areas look Perfect
• Starts players on the first tee explaining the rules of play and positive etiquette for the day (Pace, Course Care, Cart etiquette).
• Maintains an accurate starting sheet so the whereabouts of players are known.
• Cues groups to move to the first tee and makes sure not more than one group is on the tee at on time.
• Records cart numbers with player names for Proshop/Pace Technology.
• Communicates with the Golf Shop on a regular basis.
• Assists golfers when needed.
• Reports all problem situations to the Head Professional in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities of a Marshal

• Tours the golf course to greet and assist each group – “How is your day? Is there anything I can assist you with?”
• Be proactive in thanking members and guest for: Keeping up the group ahead of them, use sand in the fairways, Abiding by cart rules of the day, and Fixing ball marks, etc.
• Checks the restrooms and water stations for cleanliness on a regular schedule.
• Maintains proper spacing on the golf course to avoid delays.
• Completes the golfer tracking report daily.
• Repair ball marks and collect any trash that may be on the course.
• Maintain any hazard stakes, directional signage, ropes, etc.
• Communicates with the Golf Shop on a regular basis.
• Monitors the course and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assists golfers when needed.
• Ensure all teeing areas are clean and crisp: Trash(cans), ball washer, pick up all tees left behind).
• Reports all problem situations to the Head Professional in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications for the Starter/Marshall:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications:

• Possesses basic math skills.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
