Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join our diverse team of professionals. This position is located in Roy, UT and has the option to work hybrid/remote. The selected candidate will provide technical leadership for Model Based Sustainment across multiple sites.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
As a member of the Model Based Sustainment team, you will define, develop, and implement, and transition new technology solutions for the digital twin/digital thread environment for the sustainment of various government platforms. Responsibilities include establishing, planning, and delivering recommended solutions to functional requirements associated with the various programs and its requirements. A successful candidate will be a leading innovator in developing a collaborative digital environment with connectivity to the Model Based Sustainment solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Advanced knowledge of Digital Transformation, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality
Advanced knowledge of System Engineering
Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to communicate with influence and impact, effectively conveying insights, a clear point of view and recommendations in ways that inspire action and advance business strategy.
Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, weekends and support on-call status when necessary.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. Understand the Integrated Logistics Support requirements from the US Government to influence the digital architecture of our design and maintenance concepts of the military platforms ensuring their operational cost are low and affordable. Be a leading innovator in developing affordable platform sustainment solutions. Candidate must possess strong customer interface, presentation, and communication skills.
Staff Systems Engineer Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 14 years of experience in aviation, Systems Engineering, aerospace, or manufacturing/production OR Master's Degree in STEM with 12 years of experience in aviation, Systems Engineering, aerospace, or manufacturing/production OR PhD with 9 years of experience in aviation, Systems Engineering, aerospace, or manufacturing/production.
Experience with Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality
Experience in the development and sustaining military platforms.
Ability to develop relationships and operate in a collaborative team environment.
Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors.
Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in working with geographically separated teams.
Extensive experience working with Edge Devices (EUD) (HoloLens1, HoloLens2, Tablets).
Demonstrated technical leadership skills, decisiveness, and ability to make sound technical judgments with limited information.
Well-versed, skilled, and disciplined in system engineering processes.
Experience working in a Research and Development environment.
Active DoD Top Secret clearance
