About the Role:

We are seeking an engineer to join our Developer Productivity team. In this role, you will contribute to our vision to revolutionize our developer experience for the entire engineering team by creating comprehensive systems, automated tools, and extensible frameworks that facilitate the entire software development and release lifecycle. You will work closely with all engineering teams and other key stakeholders to build out our secure, multi-tenant tools and services that enable the delivery of new business opportunities across Confluent Cloud and Platform, including Connect, kSQL/Flink, Kafka, and more. You will help drive end-to-end technical delivery from developer onboarding to our internal operations supporting our customers. You are not confined to the status quo and you leverage your expertise in Cloud-native, large-scale distributed systems to help evolve our platform to become industry-leading.

What You Will Do:

+ Automate service creation and evolution and enable developer self-service functionality as part of our journey to an Internal Developer Platform

+ Partner across engineering and other key stakeholders to build and drive the overall roadmap for Developer Productivity.

+ Deliver high impact to the business by driving important technical initiatives in areas including developer tooling, security, architectural direction, and major component refactoring across organizational boundaries.

+ Provide feedback into the overall architectural design, and delivery of architecture to determine when functions should be part of a common developer platform versus service unique.

+ Identify and standardize best practices to champion a great engineering culture across the company.

What You Will Bring:

+ Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in software development for cloud services and infrastructure

+ Experience developing with compiled and scripted programming languages (e.g., Go, Java, Python, Ruby, etc.)

+ Technical expertise running large-scale distributed systems in production environments using cloud native technologies (e.g., AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, etc.)

+ Ability to influence the team, peers, and management using effective communication and collaborative techniques with a sense of urgency for achieving resultsBS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience

What Gives You an Edge:

+ Experience with Internal Developer Platforms (Humanitec, Argo, Crossplane, etc)

+ Experience developing solutions for multi-cloud enterprise environments

+ Experience building customer-facing production systems, so you can leverage these learnings for the rest of the engineering organization

This position has an annual estimated salary of $181,170 - $197,010, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
