We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Pharmacist to join our team. As a Staff Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional pharmaceutical care to our patients. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the safe and effective use of medications.
Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carefully review and interpret veterinary prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and providing Drug Utilization Review (DUR) for prescription orders
- Oversee the diligent work of our pharmacy technicians and support staff, guaranteeing the accurate processing of prescriptions from licensed veterinarians and their corresponding orders from pet parents.
- Verify the correct dispensing of prescriptions to our beloved pets, following our pharmacy's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and complying with all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Offer knowledgeable guidance to pet parents on the proper use of prescriptions for their furry companions, while also maintaining precise and up-to-date pet (patient) profiles.
- Verify all compounded medications prepared by our skilled pharmacy technicians, ensuring adherence to USP 795 standards, pharmacy SOPs and any applicable state pharmacy regulations governing non-sterile compounding.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the veterinary pharmacy profession, actively participating in Continuing Education and in-service education opportunities to continuously enhance your expertise.
- Ensure the delivery of top-quality professional services by maintaining the highest standards within our pharmacy team.
Qualifications: Education and Experience:
- PharmD or BS in Pharmacy Degree
- Pharmacist experience a plus but not required
- Experience in veterinary pharmacy and/or veterinary compounding is a paw-sitive bonus, but newcomers to the field are warmly welcomed to apply.
- New Grads or upcoming Grads (Spring 2024) are welcome to apply.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Must be a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Nebraska in good standing or have plans to be registered by June 2024 for new graduate applicants.
- Flexibility to obtain pharmacy licensure in additional states as needed for our pharmacy's expansion plans.
