Staff Internal Auditor

We're currently seeking a Staff Internal Auditor to join our Headquarters team!

The objective of the Staff Internal Auditor role will be to operate as an extension of Internal Audit leadership, serving as an internal consultant and controls subject matter expert for the business. The Staff Internal Auditor will assist in the design, documentation, testing and evaluation of Mister Car Wash's internal controls over financial reporting through execution of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) program. The Staff Auditor will also assist in the execution of internal audit project fieldwork as led by Internal Audit Management, which will include a variety of operational, compliance and financial audits. 

What you will do:

• Update SOX documentation including process maps and risk and control matrices (RACMs).
• Interview control owners to create and update SOX documentation.
• Perform prescribed transactional control tests for both Business Process and IT controls for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) processes.
• Assist Internal Audit Leadership in the execution of fieldwork for various audit projects as defined by the annual audit plan.
• Assist Internal Audit Leadership in serving as an internal consultant to Mister Car Wash management, participate in the execution of ad hoc internal projects based on business needs, keep abreast of business issues, and identify the need for changes to policies and procedures which impact the internal control environment.
• Perform administrative tasks in support of key initiatives or executive meetings (i.e. - Audit Committee meetings) and ensure professional certification credits and/or continuous learning initiatives are being met.  

How you will shine:

• 1-2 years of Audit, Finance or Accounting experience, however recent college graduates would also be considered for this staff position.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, or Business Administration
• Master's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, or MBA preferred.

• Continuous learning mindset and the willingness to obtain a professional certification within our field of work/study, e.g., CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA
