What You’ll Get to Do:
As a Product Design Engineer you will work in a new Product Development environment that develops a wide variety of plastic lab ware products from concept to launch. Your ideas will bring new products to life as you collaborate with other design engineers, process development engineers, product managers and project leaders to develop plastic products for life science, medical device, laboratory, diagnostic and consumer product markets. How You’ll Make a Difference:
Partner with Great Coworkers: We participate on diverse project teams to lead design activities including: developing product design traceability matrix, product design verification activities and present at technical design reviews. Play a meaningful role in projects with strong technical leadership.
Solid Model Design: Develop Solidworks solid models that achieve design requirements using best design practices and industry design standards.
R&D Leadership: Seek out new technologies and extract value for our products and manufacturing processes.
Design Analysis and Simulation: Complete tolerance stack-up analysis and design simulation activities including FEA and MoldFlow. Make arithmetic computations using standard formulas, calculates dimensions and tolerances.
Develop Engineering Standards: Create engineering design standards and role model usage.
Minimum Requirements:
Education
- B.S. minimum in Mechanical Engineering / Biomedical Engineering or related field with minimum 5 years product design experience.
Experience
- Experience with mechanical drafting standards and solid modeling is required.
- Strong proficiency with tolerance analysis of mechanical assemblies. Structural analysis experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to apply problem solving and data analysis methods.
- Experience with plastic materials and plastic processing is a plus.
- Demonstrated technical leadership
- Excellent PC skills with proficiency with MS Office, various CAD programs.
- Previous experience with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), ISO standards and Lean Manufacturing concepts desired.
- Travel domestically and internationally (up to 10% of the time).

The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is –.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
