Job Description SummaryPerformance is an engineering discipline centered on modeling and predicting the performance of the entire engine/propulsion system. Throughout detailed product definition, development testing, certification, entry into service, and field experience, Performance plays a central role in understanding the metrics that matter to our airframe customers (thrust, fuel flow, EGT) and our internal design organizations (pressures, temperatures, flows, speeds). Our core competencies include engine cycle modeling, airframe integration, SPOCT integration, engine test support, and engine power management.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Drives units and/or system level functional performance to deliver customer solutions. Defines and conducts testing of equipment and/or entire systems, identifying the best testing strategy and measurement system. Reports performance with respect to the guaranteed values in accordance with industry codes and standards. Participates in the research, design, development, and enhancement of technologies in the areas of performance, operability, and cost optimization. Can include delivery of customer solutions that properly balance cost and benefit (including architecture, key design trade-offs, flow-down of requirements and flow-up of capability).
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Performance or a closely related discipline.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Extensive experience with programming, data visualization, and statistics
