Position Title: Staff Engineer

Job Description: Provide technical leadership, analysis, design, and development for a variety of new and existing systems used by our business. Provide technical expertise to the organization, and lead the design and development of standards, design governance and development tool selection. Actively lead the evaluation and introduction of new technology, vendor packages and tool road mapping. Solve medium to high technically complex problems on multiple Features and Epics; support and lead the technical direction for the product team and communicate future plans and direction to technical and non-technical people. Leverage DevSecOps best practices to ship high-quality code and speed of delivery. Develop new features and services that are medium-high level of complexity working with the product/ platform/ infrastructure/ security teams. Design, code, deploy & support working software/technology component, working collaboratively with architects and other engineers. Build systems and services that have immediate impact for our business. Create Threat Model, Architecture, Estimates, Design, Code, COTS configuration for the required business feature. Responsible for code analysis, debugging, review and execution of unit/integration tests. Create test automation scripts. Responsible for delivering clean, secure, performant code/technology components that meets all the non-functional requirements. Responsible for achieving operational excellence as part of delivering feature. Act in Lead Engineer capacity for medium to large initiatives, prioritizing and assigning tasks, providing guidance and resolving issues. Set up application jobs, create test data, and support deployment, all at a medium to high level of complexity. Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Position is fixed location based in Marlborough, MA office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.

Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a directly related field plus six (6) years of software engineering experience. Experience must include:

Four (4) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

• Experience developing new Enterprise scale integration features and services working with product, platform, infrastructure and security teams.
• Leading estimation, design, code analysis, code, deploy & support of working integration software/technology components, working with architects and other engineers, while providing direction to the engineering team.
• Leading discussions on design approaches to solving business problems.
• Performing code analysis, debugging, review and automating unit/integration tests.
• Performed in Lead Engineer capacity for medium to large integration initiatives: structuring work, prioritizing, and assigning tasks, providing guidance and resolving issues.
• Experience setting up application jobs, test data, and supporting deployments.
• Experience taking the lead in creating development of process definitions, best practices and standards.
• Experience in incident and change management principles and best practices.

Three (3) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

• Delivering Enterprise scale integrations using any of the following:

• IBM IIB v9, v10 or AppConnect Enterprise (ACE); or
• Dell Boomi, code analysis and review, and developing and executing unit/integration tests.

Two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

• Delivering Enterprise scale integrations using any of the following:

• Building Java REST web services or APIs; or
• Cloud or Hybrid integration Apigee or Kafka; or
• Web Service programming, configuration, code analysis and review, and develops and executes unit/integration tests; or
• IBM WSRR

• DevSecOps concepts using one or more of the following:

• Parallel development experience using Git or other source repository; or
• Implementing CI/CD with pipeline technology and binary repositories; or
• Deployment automation; or
• Test driven development using a unit test automation framework.
