Job Summary:
The Staff Cytotechnologist performs, evaluates, and monitors routine and special Cytology procedures and testing throughout the RSFH system laboratories following established standards, policies and procedures. Develops and maintains standard procedures for technical operations. Trains and supports testing personnel to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies. Assists the Lead Cytotechnologist with the technical function of the cytology departments at hospital sites in coordination with the Hospital Medical Directors and pathologists.
Minimum Qualifications: Education: B.S. and completion of a program in cytotechnology from an accredited institution.
Experience: Two years cytotechnology experience.
Licensure/Certification: ASCP certification as Cytotechnologist.

Knowledge/Skills: Must be capable of operating laboratory instrumentation, and making sound, well-informed decisions under stressful conditions and time constraints. Demonstrates ability to organize testing workflow, support and train testing personnel, develop and implement training guidelines, to ensure quality patient care. Demonstrates proficiency in computer systems to include clinical and office application programs. Demonstrates excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
