Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks an experienced Staff Configuration Analyst for a fast-paced, growing, and dynamic position to support our Immersive Mission Solutions Operating Unit (OU) located in Orlando, Florida. Northrop Grumman is an industry leader in developing, integrating, and sustaining complex systems for the US Department of Defense.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead of Configuration Managers and Data Managers; oversees a group of approximately 7 to 8 support members.
- The technical areas of expertise of this group include data management and configuration management.
- Tasks included within the scope of responsibility are maintenance of and reaction to future staffing projections, mentoring & career development, including training, ensuring, and monitoring quality of work products, leadership of proposal activities, thought leadership, execution of a strategic vision for the Configuration Management, and Data Management functions.
- Collaborates with the team in the review and analysis of released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, mission assurance, and engineering data control activities.
- Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Maintains CDRL documentation records and provides reporting and metrics to Management and Mission Assurance.
- Assists with development of configuration documentation.
Job Duties include:
- Establishing and maintaining product baselines
- Maintaining the CM repositories
- Managing change records and facilitates ERB and CCB meetings.
- Maintaining the as-built configuration records
- Supporting and collaborating with the Software lead, Lab Operations, and QA teams by appropriately controlling (both internally and externally developed) software and associated documentation as products go through the software development cycle.
- Supporting Test Readiness Reviews, and CDRL releases and deliveries.
- Collecting and analyzing CM metrics to identify areas for process improvement and to measure throughput and team and individual performance.
- Establishing a culture of innovation and automation & propagating this vision to other teams
- Contributing to the development of software configuration standards for company-wide use.
- Training software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.
- Leading the Software Configuration Management (SWCM) team performing configuration identification, change control, auditing, and reporting, and the receiving and delivery (both internally and externally) of developed software products, including commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and government off-the-shelf (GOTS) software.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 15 years of experience in hardware and software configuration/data management experience OR master’s degree and 13 years of OR 17 years of experience in lieu of degree
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance
- Ability to perform and complete tasks with no supervision
- Demonstrated knowledge of CM principles, concepts, practices, and standards
- Experience working within defined engineering & development processes
Preferred Qualifications:
- CMPIC Certification
- Experience with implementing CM in as enterprise-wide approach
- Experience with ARAS, or other PLM systems for CM
- Previous experience in DoD programs.
- Experience with EIA-649.
- Experience with Agile development
- Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite
- Experience with SW release and Build process.
- Experience with commercial hardware and software configuration management products
- Experience with SharePoint
- Experience with InfoPath
