JOB TITLE: Staff Attorney
POSITION REPORTS TO: Senior Counsel
LOCATION: Houston, TX
WAGES: Commensurate with experience
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. A 9/80 work schedule may also be available, subject to approval. Some overtimeand weekends may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review, negotiate, and draft commercial contracts, bid proposal terms, and other business documents.
- Provide constructive decision support to management, human resources and sales team as needed.
- Some legal research and other duties as assigned by the Senior Counsel or General Counsel.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be licensed to practice law in Texas.
- Must have an interest in the broader oil and gas industry.
- Must have 2 – 5 years of commercial transactional legal experience, as a licensed attorney.
- Must be business-minded and able to assist with managing risk while balancing commercial considerations.
- Must be able to successfully multi-task.
- Must have exceptional organization skills.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and assignments under deadline with limited direction and shifting priorities.
- Must be adaptable and willing to take on varied responsibilities related to commercial transactions, employment law, regulatory matters, and other areas of law.
- Must be able to pass all applicable background screening tests.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and a positive attitude.

- If candidate has less than 3 years of relevant work experience as a practicing transactional attorney, candidate must have graduated in the top half of candidate's graduating law school class.
- Licensed to practice law in Ohio, in addition to Texas.
- In-house legal experience.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry and/or experience with the sale of fuels and lubricants, transportation/logistics services, or environmental health and safety.
Compensation: Commensurate with Exp plus bonus (100-120)
