How will you make an impact?
You will play an integral role in the development and enhancement of our products and work closely with in-house multi-functional teams and lead outside design resources to produce a great User Experience. You will be accountable for multiple projects in tandem with a multi-disciplinary team, estimate the level of effort, and produce any vital UX artifacts: heuristic evaluations, wireframes, user flows, site maps, comps, redline specs. etc. As the Staff Architect, you will also lead a team, develop usability test plans, evaluate UX performance, and ensure that all milestones are met within the established timeline.
What will you do?
- Produce and craft highly usable interface solutions passionate about the User Experience
- Review research on competing products, existing initiatives, past projects, and customer research
- Synthesize findings to aid developing the product or project strategy
- Design solutions that meet or exceed strategic objectives
- Guide and collaborate with designers, internal and external, with detailed delegation, follow-up and mentor
- Cultivate throughout the company that User Experience has a fundamental role in product development
- Rationalize solutions with the project teams
- Balance creative requirements with business requirements
- Provide quality assurance on creative work
- Translate concepts into effective User Experiences
- Develop plans that production teams can use to help guide their work
- Produce UX documentation: information architectures, wireframes, process flows, interaction designs, style guides, etc.
- Ensure UX documentation is continuously updated and distributed to the production teams
- Identify and implement opportunities to refine UX processes
How will you get here?
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as graphic design, interaction design, user psychology or computer science
Experience
- 5+ years proven experience leading UX projects
- 2+ years of industry experience in digital design, information sciences, biotechnology or library/information science or related field
- Experience applying research and analysis to products
- Good understanding of and experience with: user-centered design techniques; development of organization-focused designs from concept to completion; project processes for the development of large or small projects
- Preferred experience with: software development process/business analysis; user research, usability practices and testing
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Effective communication skills, both orally and in a variety of written and diagrammatic forms
- Proven interpersonal skills, leading design resources skills; and ability to work in a team environment
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Detailed, diligent, and highly organized, plus ability to multitask and meet timelines
- High proficiency in the use of MS Office, Visio and design tools such as Photoshop and Figma

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $118,600.00–$158,100.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
