Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant specializing in Payroll and Benefits Expense Analysis to join our finance team. This role is crucial in managing the intricacies of Payroll and Benefits accounting, with a particular emphasis on utilizing ADP and Dynamics 365 (D365). The ideal candidate will possess advanced Excel skills, a strong understanding of payroll processes, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Payroll and Benefits Accounting:
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll accounting process, ensuring accurate recording and classification of expenses.
- Collaborate with HR and Benefits administrators to capture and reconcile Payroll and Benefits data from ADP into D365.
Expense Analysis and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Excel models for in-depth analysis of Payroll and Benefits expenses.
- Generate regular financial reports, highlighting key insights and variances, and present findings to management.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting capabilities within ADP and D365.
ADP Integration:
- Utilize ADP expertise to ensure seamless integration with D365 and accurate transfer of payroll data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any discrepancies between ADP records and financial statements.
- Collaborate with ADP support and IT to implement system upgrades and improvements.
Reconciliations:
- Conduct thorough reconciliations of Payroll and Benefits accounts, addressing discrepancies promptly.
- Implement and maintain reconciliation procedures between ADP, D365, and general ledger accounts.
Compliance and Audit Support:
- Stay current on payroll regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring all practices align with industry standards.
- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits, working closely with auditors.
- Implement audit recommendations to enhance accuracy and efficiency in Payroll and Benefits accounting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in payroll accounting, benefits expense analysis, and reconciliations.
- Proficient in ADP and experienced in ADP-D365 integration.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, complex formulas).
- Familiarity with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations or similar ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with multi-state payroll accounting preferred.
- Previous experience in optimizing financial systems and processes preferred.
