- Prepare, maintain and report property records for all companies (including leases).
- Reconcile and maintain records for all prepaid asset accounts on a monthly basis.
- Account reconciliations as assigned.
- Provide assistance in other areas of the accounting department as requested.
- Prepare, maintain and file all state sales and use tax reports.
- Perform all aspects of preparation and analysis related to sales and use tax audits.
- Become the company go-to for all sales and use tax scenarios – including working with our customer service, purchasing and maintenance teams.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all property additions, transfers, disposals and depreciation records.
- Maintain all property related monthly and annual management reports to include the Wisconsin manufacturing personal property and real estate returns.
- Review property tax assessments.
- Assign all capital projects job cost numbers after approval of project budgets.
- Work with project managers to ensure timely capitalization of projects.
- Maintain and prepare reports from the job cost files.
- Maintain records and reports on all equipment leases.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of capital process training for the organization.
- Prepare all monthly journal entries necessary for property reporting.
- Prepare the depreciation plan for the subsequent year budget and assist in capital planning process.
- Assist with external audit and perform other functions as they relate to property.
- Produce, index and maintain all property documents by project or asset number in the document management application.
- Prepare and submit all required state tax forms (monthly, quarterly, annually).
- Review accruals in accounts payable for use tax reporting accuracy.
- Maintain updates for Vertex Tax Decision Maker Taxability Reference.
- Read and interpret various federal and state governmental publications to maintain current knowledge of tax laws.
- Issue credits to customers for any incorrect tax charges.
- Maintain sales tax documentation in the document management application.

- 0+ years experience / internship in the accounting function at a manufacturing company
- A bachelor’s degree is required with a major in accounting or finance.
- The desire to obtain either an advance degree, CPA or CMA
- Self-starter with the ability to adapt to a changing environment driven by growth and acquisitions
- Strong analytical ability, high degree of intelligence, energy, and ambition
- Excellent organizational skills

- JDE ERP system experience a plus
