Job Description
Summary:
The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Corporate Accounting Manager. This role will consistently meet or exceed deadlines for both accounts payable entries, payroll entries and Financial Statement deadlines. Also, perform accounting and administrative duties by verifying accuracy of invoices and timecards, input accounts payable invoices, payroll data, reconcile account payable statements, and generate accounts payable invoices.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: Match invoices to applicable backup or purchase orders. Accurate data entry of invoices after approval is received. Verifies entries once posted for accounting and spelling accuracy as well as discount and pay terms. Reconciles monthly statements from vendors. Receives a completed W-9 form for new vendors.
- Accounts Receivable: (Intercompany Billing) Invoice clients by the 10th for expenses AgriCare paid for on client’s behalf.
- Invoice Approval: Submit invoices to appropriate departments for manager approval; Receive approval on all invoices (with exception of utility bills) in a timely manner.
- Check Process: Match printed checks to its corresponding invoices. Verify printed checks have correct mailing address and amount due. Mail checks. File checks in file system.
- Payroll Data Entry: Verify timecard accuracy by researching activities, crop cost centers, work orders, and equipment. Accurate data entry of timecards after approval is received by appropriate supervisor. Verifies entry for spelling and coding accuracy. Create and submit crew report to Corporate Accounting Manager immediately following the finalization of crew entry.
- Cash Receipts: Create digital records on a daily basis for physical bank deposits received.
- Financial Statements (Facility): Prepare balance sheet, income statement and supporting documents prior to monthly review deadlines. Review financial statements with Corporate Accounting Manager based on scheduled timeline.
- Fresno County Support: Assist Regional Farm Manager with Farming needs, such as, administrative tasks, timecard collection, scanning, filing, document distribution, communication between departments, etc.
- Administrative/Farm Operations Support: Perform administrative duties, such as providing telephone support and filing. Assist Farming Department with various tasks, as needed.
- Teamwork: Work as a member of the accounting team to meet deadlines, maintain accuracy and operate within a culture that aligns with the company’s values, mission, and vision.

- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2-5 years related experience and/or training;
- Ag Related Experience
- Cost Accounting Experience
- Perform other duties as assigned by the needs of the business.

- Ability to meet all safety requirements and/or pass a drug and alcohol test (Safety Sensitive positions, only).
