Staff Accountant

JOB SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. This position reports to VP Finance & Accounting.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Prepares monthly balance sheets and income statements for multiple operating entities.
• Prepares and maintains daily and monthly management reporting.
• Maintains the general ledger including set up of new accounts.
• Responsible for closing of the monthly books and reconciling of accounts.
• Provide support to operations to ensure that invoices are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Provides outside accounting and tax professionals with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual tax return preparation.
• Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies, as needed.
• Maintain accounting software systems and recommend updates to enhance the accounting software.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field, preferred.
• At least three years of related experience required.
• Experience in the Hospitality segment preferred.

$75,000-$80,000
