Industrial Sewer

DentalEZ in Hillsboro is hiring a full time Industrial Sewer. If you enjoy the Upholstery Sewer craft and like working in a positive work environment at a company that maintains a high level of quality and accuracy, this position may be a great fit for you!

Essential Duties

• Works with Engineering on new product designs and prototypes. Creates patterns, build samples and standard work used to manufacturer the new design.
• Draw cutting lines on material following patterns, templates, sketches, or blueprints, using chalk, pencils, paint, or other methods.
• Measure and cut new covering materials, using patterns and measuring and cutting instruments, following sketches and design specifications.
• Operate a single and double needle sewing machine to stitch fabric used in upholstering dental chairs and stools.
• Assist Upholsterers with general labor as needed in the production of upholstery sets.
• Full understanding of the paperwork for each build including the work order, config sheet, and bill of material. Correct accounting of adds and deletes.
• Follow all processes and procedures related to the materials system including the Kanban system, production order process and Lean processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to comprehend verbal and written work instructions and
• Understanding of the fundamental concepts and practices for industrial sewing and the use of an industrial sewing machine.
• Proven competency in the use of an industrial sewing machine, cutting tools and other equipment used in the cutting and sewing of upholstery patterns with supervision.
• Minimum two years' experience or demonstrated skill.

Physical Demand

Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arms-length, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision.
