OVERVIEW
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing general bookkeeping, month end reconciliations, account analysis and maintaining financial records/reports and general ledgers for the company.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedure
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation
- Propose journal entries for assigned accounts and maintain the related reconciliation schedules
- Assist with various periodic reports assigned by the supervisor(s)
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Assist with financial audit and tax returns request
- Assis with department ad-hoc reports or one off projects
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Accounting degree or equivalent
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities of auditing practices and principles in US GAAP
- Knowledge of lease accounting preferred
- Advanced excel user preferred
