The Staff Accountant performs typical accounting duties such as cash related tasks, preparing and recording journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset tracking, lease accounting and month/year close in support of the overall accounting function. This position also generates, analyzes, and distributes reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Complete daily cash transactions for both US and Canada including clearing paid checks, setting up electronic payments and templates, preparing and recording associated journal entries
- Prepare journal entries (e.g., deduction, depreciation, amortization, etc.)
- Maintain and update fixed asset, CIP and trademarks subledger
- Assist Financial Accounting Supervisor with capital project tracking and lease accounting
- Reconcile select balance sheet and income statement general ledger accounts
- Assist Senior Accountant with various tasks to ensure back up coverage of duties
- Assist with financial statement audits and tax engagements by preparing various schedules and pulling required information
- Assist with maintaining accurate archive records for the accounting department
- Support Financial Accounting Supervisor and Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements
- Responsible for picking up the mail from the PO box and preparing the check deposit for the Accounts Receivable team to post into the ERP
- Act as backup for generating the monthly/quarterly financial statements and management reporting packages prepared by the Financial Accounting & Reporting Analyst
- Other duties and projects as assigned
SUPERVISORY/BUDGET
- No direct reports, no direct budgetary responsibility
Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent education
- CPA or public accounting experience preferred
- CPA license highly regarded
- Minimum two years’ accounting experience in a comparable environment
- Experience with general ledger, accounts payable, and/or accounts receivable in wholesale environment
- Experience with the scope of duties listed in the job description
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficient in using and interpreting data from ERP systems
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of raw data (including pdf) to Excel data conversions

- This position is based in Rohnert Park, CA. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 – 5:30 pm. This is a hybrid role offering the flexibility to occasionally work remotely. Expected in-offices days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Subject to change.

Compensation range is $72,000.00 - $90,720.00 annually.
Compensation is determined based on non-discriminatory, business-related factors, including but not limited to, training, experience, education and/or professional certifications, geographic location, and market data.
