Staff Accountant

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

This position reports directly to the Chief Accounting Officer and will handle a wide variety of accounting functions to include Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, internal accounting, and vendor relations.
The Staff Accountant will handle the following responsibilities:

• Process and enter all incoming accounts payable invoices and subcontractor payment applications as they are received, resolving any discrepancies.
• Respond to all vendor inquiries.
• Obtain subcontractor supplier releases as needed for all subcontractor payment applications.
• Deposit cash receipts and post deposits in accounting software.
• Track and resolve outstanding accounts receivable balances.
• Manage and obtain all construction-related compliance documentation from subcontractors and enter the required information into the accounting system (including but not limited to conditional and unconditional releases, Master Agreements, Contractor’s Licenses and insurance information)
• Obtain W-9’s for all new vendors and enter data in accounting system.
• Upload accounts receivable invoices into client portals as needed.
• Works with Insurance Broker to procure company insurance certificates for clients.
• Closes projects in accounting software, including verification of all data, and resolving all discrepancies.
• Maintain preliminary notices, recording, logging, tracking.
• Fulfil check request for permits, following up on the collection of receipts and entry into accounting software.
• Assist in completion of credit applications and new account setup.
• Maintain and manage city business licenses.
• Issue contracts through DocuSign.
• Assist management with ad hoc reporting.
• Aid and support to users of job cost accounting.
• Collaborates with all departments on all things related to their position for AP, AR, and compliance.
• Maintain and issue company devices.
• Reconcile company credit cards.
Perform other accounting or administrative tasks or projects as needed.

THE IDEAL STAFF ACCOUNTANT WILL HAVE:

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong computer skills including competency with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent ability to learn the company software quickly (experience working with Sage 100 Contractor strongly preferred)
• Prior experience working in Accounting at a Construction company.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Should exhibit excellent critical thinking as well as analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and/or in a team environment.
• Strong multi-tasking skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 - $90,000 annually. Full time positions will be eligible for a full healthcare benefit package after 60 days of employment and a safe harbor company 401k match starts after 90 days of employment. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training. Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week.
