The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Controller and requires and energetic, service oriented individual responsible for supporting various aspects of finance and accounting. This role requires a strong work ethic, good time management skills, and communication skills in accordance with the core values of Scott Group Studio.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary focus on accounts receivable, including billing and cash receipts
Perform posting of cash receipts, expenses, or other transactions to the general ledger and verify accuracy
Assist in year-end activities, including preparation work for review and tax
Assist in preparation and review of monthly financial statements
Review and reconcile vendor, customer and credit card statements
Support Controller by classifying, recording and computing financial data
Coordinate and execute projects and tasks assigned by the Controller and other members of the company leadership team as needed.
Handle purchasing of raw materials, including arranging domestic/international freight.
ABILITIES
Self-motivated individual who has a great attitude
Detail oriented
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
2-3 years of experience
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Results-driven personality and ability to plan and achieve department goals
Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and resourcefulness in decision making and problem solving.
Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive projects
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
