POSITION SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the direct accounting activities of GT Independence, at the direction of the Assistant Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Posting of invoices from the billing department into the accounting system
• Reconciling the accounting system to the billing system
• Applying payments in the accounting system

Backup/Other duties as necessary:

• Backup to the Accounts Payable Clerk
• Preparation of 401k deposits
• Monthly preparation of bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
• Preparation and payment of Field Service Representatives commissions
• Preparation of reconciliations for general ledger accounts in conjunction with monthly internal financial statement preparation
• Assist in annual financial statement and 401k audits
• Assist with all state and federal audits
• Projects

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Finance/Accounting

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 2 years of experience relevant to the work performed
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products, specifically Great Plains and excel
• Ability to oversee and manage multiple tasks
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong ability to analyze data
• Near acuity for checking and copying figures

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
