Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. Specific responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:
- Manage accounts payable/reimbursements.
- Manage accounts payable to properly plan cash flow so expenses are paid promptly. Maintain accurate files of invoices or other source documents
- Manage master vendor spreadsheet including cadence of billing and length of contract(s)
- Serve as primary liaison between the home office centralized bookkeepers and the local office
- Ensure commissions are processed for financial representative commissions
- Recover all financial representative debt on a timely basis
- Manage 1099 processing and tax filings in collaboration with CPAs, CFO, and home office
- Record semi-monthly financial advisor, managing director charges into commission template for processing
- Review bank reconciliations on a semi-monthly basis and advise on corrections to be paid
- Manage monthly credit card allocations and ensure expenses are booked to the correct accounts
- Monitor financial representative indebtedness and process collection procedures as necessary
- Run semi-monthly employee payroll, 401k contributions, and make any adjustments to benefit enrollments
- Serve as a resource for commission statements and payroll to financial advisors and/or employees
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting, including financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, annual tax filings, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft excel and other suites
- Takes initiative and ability to think critically
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
