Under general supervision, a Sr. UI/UX Developer plans, documents, develops and tests a web site’s user interface and user experience. The designer should be self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to keep up-to-date on the leading practices in web design and usability. Sr. UI/UX Developers will be expected to guide and complete intermediate to complex development tasks in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other technologies using best practices and following company standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Participate or lead development tasks on multiple projects at one time.
Comply with industry and company best practices and guide other team members in this area.
Comply with O’Reilly policies and procedures and guide other team members in this area.
Lead and suggest ideas for determining overall look and feel of web sites.
Create advanced mock-ups and UX documentation – review other team members documentation.
Write clean, semantic HTML and CSS & review other team members code.
Intermediate knowledge of CSS preprocessors such as LESS.
Intermediate knowledge of cross browser testing and debugging.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
Required:
2+ years of UI/UX development experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic/Web Design or comparable work experience.
Intermediate Experience in designing interface mockups in Illustrator and/or Photoshop.
Intermediate knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 standards.
Intermediate knowledge of JavaScript.
Ability and willingness to learn new technologies.
Willingness to work flexible schedule, including night/weekends when required.
Excellent communications skills.
Desired:
Intermediate experience writing logic driven templates in frameworks such as Thymeleaf, JSP & Handlebars/client-side templating frameworks.
Intermediate experience with responsive design.
Intermediate experience working within a team and using a version control system, preferably GIT.
