Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing tax accounting activities within the organization. This includes preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, providing guidance on tax planning strategies, and assisting with tax audits. The Senior Tax Accountant will collaborate with other departments to analyze financial data and make recommendations to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
- Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and minimize tax liabilities.
- Analyze financial data to identify tax planning opportunities and provide recommendations to management.
- Assist with tax audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries from tax authorities, and representing the organization as needed.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize financial performance and minimize tax risks.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff members on tax accounting principles and procedures.
- Stay current on changes to tax laws and regulations and communicate potential impacts to management.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and legal, to ensure alignment of tax strategies with overall business objectives.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives related to tax accounting as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on corporate taxation.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with tax preparation software and financial accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
