Job Summary: 

The Sr. Talent Management Specialist for Employee Relations, Training and Development is responsible for supporting the objectives of the organization and the day-to-day operations for EMPLOYEE RELATIONS, TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT.  Assists in the development of programs meant to promote employee engagement and satisfaction with the organization and reduce turnover. Participates in EMPLOYEE RELATIONS related issues, which may include employee disciplinary action and conflict or grievance resolution.  Ensures programs are administered fairly across the employee population. Participates in investigation of employee/employer misconduct.  Conducts or moderates employee surveys, focus groups or exit interviews. 

Supervision:

This position reports to the Sr. Director, Talent Management and will receive day-to-day guidance from the Employee Relations, Training and Development Consultant, as well as work closely with members of the Talent Management and HR teams, and will collaborate with members of the campus community.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and utilize full functional knowledge of various applications within the Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM Talent Review module, including performance management, curriculum design/development, course scheduling and enrollment, and any integrations, including LinkedIn Learning.  Assist in creating and maintaining documentation on internal and HR knowledge documents, training guides, and process information. As appropriate, ensure alignment with IC policies and procedures.
  2. Assist in the delivery of EMPLOYEE RELATIONSAND DEVELOPMENT programs, including employee and supervisor onboarding, Annual Performance Review process, and other programming, retreats, and employee/supervisor/leadership training. Maintain day-to-day administration of the College’s Staff Development Fund, supporting employees in application for fund usage.
  3. Conduct exit interviews with departing employees to learn why they are leaving their jobs and identify trends and possible retention efforts.
  4. Administer annual submission process to the College’s Flexible Work Arrangement Program; review for completeness, consult with Employee Relations, Training and Development Consultant on any concerns, finalize requests and notify employees and supervisors.
  5. Administer annual Harassment and Discrimination training, to include completion reporting metrics and follow up as needed.
  6. Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  7. Perform initial intake of EMPLOYEE RELATIONS concerns, both from employees and supervisors and conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations to resolve moderately complex issues and problems.
  8. Maintain disciplinary letter templates and forms; assist in administering disciplinary letters and ensure proper documentation in employee personnel files.
  9. Develop and demonstrate a multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse and respectful College community.  Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students and visitors to the College.  Promote a flexible, collaborative and inclusive work and living environment and engage in educational opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications:

  • Ability/willingness to work in person 4 days per week.
  • Associate’s degree and two years experience in Human Resources or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders across various mediums: written, verbal, face-to-face.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.

Work Environment: 

Most of the work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible, safe, indoor environment. The incumbent will be required to use a personal computer and associated equipment as well as other office equipment used in the day-to-day operations. The incumbent may need to deliver various correspondences or other informational materials on campus requiring the ability to walk or drive or make other travel arrangements.
