Position Summary
The Sr. Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading the company’s Supply Chain team in driving continuous improvement and best-in-class execution that (a) maximizes customer satisfaction through world class on time delivery and lead times, (b) optimizes inventory, and (c) delivers the lowest total landed cost to Murata Power Solutions. This position requires a driven leader to lead systems and process improvement and is a key member of the Integrated Business Planning Team.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- This role is the overall leader of the Supply Chain Team for all sources of Finished Goods Supply, Strategic Supplier Transitions, NPI, Systems, Business Process and Longer-Term Planning.
- Provides suppliers with demand plans and proactively monitors supplier’s capacity (0-24 months) to support them. Works with suppliers and internal teams to address constraints and escalates potential long-term component and supplier capacity gaps.
- Champions and drives Collaborative Planning to support MPS Strategic Plans and IBP.
- Manages Quarterly Business Reviews through objective metrics and defines continuous improvement plans. Drives Suppliers, Quality Team, Commodity Management, and Engineering to quickly resolve quality and/or delivery issues.
Job Duties/Responsibilities Cont.
- Provides process leadership and proactive support to new product development teams, and subcontracting opportunities as they develop.
- Drives increased inventory turns, reduced cycle times, and improved Customer OTD by developing, implementing, and managing pull-based material replenishment processes.
- Leads and directs employee functions such as selection, hiring, and development of employees, including making salary decisions, conducting performance reviews and creating development plans. Manages training of company’s Supply Chain personnel, including sponsoring professional certifications and hands-on training.
- Sets and maintains ERP settings and ordering policies in line with MPS guidelines to ensure material flow is optimized to improve customer metrics while optimizing inventory levels and demand fluctuations across the Supply Chain.
- Monitors Buyer/Planners for proper execution of material replenishment processes.
- Analyze, identify gaps and recommend/implement solutions to ensure material and capacity plans are effectively aligned to demand and that key business objectives/KPI’s (customer on-time delivery to business model lead-time, inventory turns and operations variable costs, etc.) will be achieved.
- Ensure clear and effective communication of demand plans across the global Supply Chain.
Experience Required
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior management and lead teams and individuals across multiple cultures, disciplines, and geographies. Experience in collaborating with product line teams and suppliers to drive effective solutions.
- Extensive hands-on experience leading global Supply Chain activities in a similar industry.
- Able to effectively navigate and work through complex situations in multi-cultural business environment to meet strategic objectives.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact-based decisions. Includes a strong working knowledge of MS Excel, ERP/MRP and advanced planning software.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Supply Chain management role, including 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in a large multi-national high-tech company.
- BA/BS or equivalent in engineering, business or technical discipline. An MBA is highly desired.
- Certification in APICS, ISM, and IBF is highly desired.
- Lean/Six Sigma certification (black belt or green belt) is desired.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
