About our Team:

We are the Protections (Post-transaction) Engineering Team in eBay’s Payments Organization, responsible for building seller and buyer post-sale experiences (Cancel, Refund, Returns, Item-Not-Received, eBay Money Back Guarantee and Payment Disputes). This team is also responsible for other products including Seller Standards, Service metrics, and Report a Buyer. As self-motivated and enthusiastic members of our team, you will work with extremely talented engineers, PM, and Business partners in a fun environment building world-class customer experiences.
Job responsibilities:
Define, design, and implement sophisticated, multi-tier distributed software systems throughout all phases of the software development life cycle
Work on new and existing product initiatives and be a driver in the definition of product direction
Communicate optimally within your team and across teams
Identify project risks, quantify risk/benefit relationships and provide alternative solutions as well as risk mitigation
Work closely w/ colleagues in different functional groups and remote offices - Architecture, Product Management, BU, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions that meet business needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and alignment to development principles and product goals
Job requirements:
5+ years experience in full-stack development, solid foundation in computer science fundamentals with strong competencies in problem solving and software design
3+ years industry experience building web/mobile-Web and RESTFul applications
3+ years industry experience with Node JS, Javascript (ES6), HTML5, CSS3
Deep experience with at least one popular JavaScript framework (preferably marko.js or react.js)
Experience with A11y standards, Responsive Web design, and at least one of the UI testing frameworks (WebDriver.IO, Karma, Mocha, Chai)
Experience building shared UI components used by multiple teams
Experience in integrating Front-end with Backend systems
Hands-on experience in Java, Web Services, Design Patterns, Databases, and Streaming technologies
Excellent knowledge in practicing OOAD, architectural and design patterns, open-source platforms, frameworks, technologies, and Software Engineering methodologies
Experience with SpringBoot, NoSQL (KV/Document/Object stores) will be a plus
Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Flink, and Kafka is a plus
A proven results-oriented person with a delivery focused in a high fast-paced, and dynamic environment
Experience with scrum or other agile software development methodology, with tools for version control (git/github) and issue tracking (JIRA or similar)
Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, decision making, and influencing skills
eCommerce experience is a plus

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.
$114,800 - $176,550Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
