About the Role:
The Senior Security Exceptions Specialist will be part of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team charged with assisting in the identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of risk through the GRC program. This role will be primarily focused on managing the security risk exceptions process, including performing risk assessments but could also include performing other risk management activities. This role will ensure that we have a streamlined process for identifying, assessing, and addressing risks that deviate from our directives. A dedicated resource will ensure a streamlined process rollout in ServiceNow and work on further enhancements in the future. This is an important investment in our maturing GRC framework to ensure the sustainable growth and resilience of CrowdStrike.
The ideal candidate will be up to the challenge of understanding current processes and proactively search for ways to improve CrowdStrike’s Security Exceptions and Risk Management process and GRC program in ways that support a fast-paced, secure, and empowered environment.
What You'll Do:
  • Perform risk assessments on incoming security exception requests and work with stakeholders as necessary to move the tickets from submission to approval/rejection.
  • Apply knowledge of information security to define the organization's direction and direct resources to achieve the mission.
  • Manage security implications within the organization as directed.
  • Being directly responsible for the achievement of control objectives defined in the GRC program.
  • Proactively identifying areas of improvement within the company, and leading efforts to address and remediate areas of improvement.
  • Performing other duties within the scope of governance, risk, and compliance as needed.
What You’ll Need:
  • Familiarity and experience in implementing and managing Security Exceptions process in a GRC tool (i.e., ServiceNow).
  • Demonstrated experience in performing risk assessments to analyze security risks associated with exception requests and creating risk treatment plans.
  • Ability to evaluate the potential impact of exceptions on the overall security posture.
  • Practical experience with policy and regulatory mandates such as: SOC2, CSA-CCM, C5, ISO 27001/27002,GDPR, PCI-DSS, UK Cyber Essentials and NIST Risk Management Framework and associated standards such as SP 800-34, SP 800-53, FedRAMP High, IL5, Spain ENS CMMC, IRAP, ISMAP, etc.
  • Practical experience leading internal risk programs, a level of comfort with communications to executives and high-level management.
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain relationships across a multitude of functions within the company.
  • Fundamental technical understanding of key technologies such as operating systems, networks, application development, databases, virtualization, and cloud infrastructures; or at least 5 years job-related experience, or a BA or BS / MA or MS degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Math, Information Security, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security Management, Intelligence Studies, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or other related field with at least three years experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with native or near-native English language fluency.
Bonus Points:
  • Experience with building a Risk Management program from the ground up, with little assistance.
  • Program and project management experience in scoping, work break-down, critical path analysis, resourcing, managing time estimates, project risks, and quality.
  • Ability to think strategically about risks and tie those risks to tactical organizational activities.
  • Experience with a cloud environment and the CrowdStrike products or services.
