DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Lead data analysis of mortgage backed securities (MBS), requiring analysis of both prepayment and credit performance serving as team subject matter expert. Create a weekly publication on the fundamental and technical trading performances of MBS. Communicate with clients on unique MBS market topics that emerge. Create monthly performance reports on prepayment, credit, issuers and multiple other complex sets of variable unique to MBS (e.g. LTV, DSCR, FICO, documentation type, occupancy status, etc.). Review and own responsibility for generating analysis on client portfolios assessing rate and credit risks. Work with sales and trading to help educate clients on bond structure and relative value, and with internal risk groups and portfolio teams in both the investment and retail bank to help model risks, including spread risk, rate risk and credit risk. Collaborate with the modeling team to calibrate MBS prepayment and credit model so they output analytics and risks consistent with the market and be able to explain why there may be a difference between market and model views.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as a Research Analyst, Economic Analyst or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Perl; C/C++; Python; XML; Utilizing Excel programming to generate graphs, pivots and tables to demonstrate complex mortgage bond math and mortgage backed security structuring concepts, simple mortgage credit and refinancing models to gauge risk in mortgage backed securities; quantitative mathematical modeling; relational database; 1010data systems; MBS bond structures including Jumbo 2.0, Non-QM, CMO, and IO/PO; MBS prepayments and credit risks; Option adjusted risk metrics including OAS, OAD, and OAC; and communicating complex economic concepts to senior stakeholders.

Full-Time. Salary: $215,000.00-$285,000.00 per year.
