Job Summary

Responsible for all aspects of the development/implementation of projects and programs involving department or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a product or program from the design process through a finished state for internal/external customers. Provides a single point of contact for projects. Takes projects from original concept through final implementation. Interfaces with all areas affected by the project which may include customers, client services and various departments (e.g., marketing, computer services etc.). Defines project scope and objectives.

Oversees and coordinates all aspects of project and serves as Project Manager between clients, line management and internal and external resources. Plans and directs schedules as well as project budgets. Monitors the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customer on all matters. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets, and status reports. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project deliverables. Manages the integration of vendor tasks, and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables. May provide project management guidance to project team. Recommends/takes action to direct the analysis of and solution to problems.

Current Need

McKesson is seeking a Sr. Project Manager. This individual will work remotely and ideally sit near one of our key hub geos of Alpharetta, GA, Pittsburgh, PA, or Irving, TX. McKesson Pharmacy Technology & Innovation Group (PTIG) is currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager to lead/facilitate the execution of projects across our business. You will be working between multiple teams across

Operations providing tailored project management, which includes planning, organizing, and directing the completion of specific projects and initiatives while ensuring the initiatives you are responsible for are on time, on budget, and stay within the agreed upon scope. In this role, you will be responsible for assuring project alignment to business goals; and communicating the vision in a way that motivates our teams to achieve the desired results.

What You'll Do…

Partner with the business to execute on a broad scope of strategic initiatives:

  • Establish and communicate clear plans to effectively achieve expected results on high profile, cross-functional initiatives.

  • Build and develop executive sponsor relationships; understand job responsibilities of other teams across the organization and effectively manages to those roles.

  • Lead projects through issues and roadblocks while anticipating and managing business risks, mitigating those risks by highlighting critical issues to leadership early.

  • Ability to shift between the “big picture” and project level details. Can work through detailed issues when required.

Serve as a thought leader:

  • Regularly re-evaluate the progress of the initiative work to confirm it aligns with the broader Operations strategy.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for continual process improvement across projects.

Project management:

  • Accountability and ownership of assigned projects to achieve project goals, including managing scope, timeline, and resources.

  • Perform basic project management administrative duties such as facilitating meetings, meeting agendas, project notes, and tracking action items.

  • Manage and control the project scope applying project change procedures when required.

  • Follow project management methodology and effectively utilizes standard project management tools.

Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Detail oriented and highly organized.

  • Works well in a team centered environment as well as the ability to work independently.

  • Experience creating project plans and successfully driving them to completion.

  • Ability to work through processes, remain organized, and manage complex matters/cases and multiple stakeholders both virtually and in-person.

  • Ability to work proactively when anticipating issues and solving problems.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to change and work in ambiguity while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Strategic problem solving and decision-making ability.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally (written, listening, and verbal).

  • Ability to run successful program outcomes from idea to launch in multiple contexts, with competing stakeholder priorities.

  • Passion and enthusiasm for results and success.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ideally including Microsoft Project, and Smartsheet.

Minimum Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical or Healthcare Related field.

  • 7-10 years project management experience.

  • PMP Certification a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Able to travel domestically 10% of the time.

  • Hybrid/Remote – Irving, TX, Alpharetta, GA, Pittsburgh, PA.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US unrestricted – This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$101,700 - $169,500
