The Senior Principal Cloud Architect is an accomplished technical leader, proactive customer-focused advocate, a team player with solid understanding of cloud computing and technology systems, as well as experience designing and migrating applications to the cloud. The candidate will be responsible for architecting highly scalable, available, and elastic solutions that implement industry best practices using cloud-based solutions with specific understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and familiarity with other clouds including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and others.

This individual will be involved in the design, review of architectures, and construction of cloud service provider environments. The candidate should have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share the knowledge. The candidate must have hands-on experience evaluating and implementing cloud strategies and program architecture. The candidate must have hands-on experience with architecting cloud solutions and migrating on premise computing to cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation, supporting deployments in an GCP environment.

The position is remote and may periodically require being onsite at Maximus HQ in McLean, Virginia.

Responsibilities:
?Provide guidance and technical oversight, brainstorm solutions, conduct architecture and design reviews to support internal teams as well as end clients.
?Leads the design of integrated solutions using GCP in integration with other clouds, third party solutions/tools.
?Deliver results and work cross-functionally to position and orchestrate a solution consisting of multiple products.
?Architecting and designing platform Engineering solutions, Containerized Cloud native application solutions, Data storage solutions, Machine learning solutions and AI based solutions using GCP provided features/tools in combination with third party solutions.
?Maintains and manages knowledge bases for Platform Architecture, Solution Design, and key design decisions.
?Present technical solutions, guidance, governance and participate in architecture and design reviews.
?Articulate high-level architectures and design ideas to larger audiences and stakeholders.
?Create a well-informed cloud strategy and regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software.
?Responsible for gathering system requirements working with application architects, product owner, and technical leads.
?Responsible for generating scripts and templates required for the automatic provisioning of resources.
?Discover standard cloud services offerings, install, and execute processes and standards for optimal use of cloud service provider offerings.
?Collaborate with the development teams to enable their applications to run on Cloud infrastructure.
?Build and maintain highly available systems on Kubernetes with auto-scaling.
?Provide technical solution support during proposal development process, to include technology stack selection, solution architecture, and implementation methodology.
?Guide and support RFIs, RFPs and RFQs, response development including writing of whitepapers and concept development.

Education and Experience:
?Bachelor?s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with more than 12 years of relevant experience
?Experience delivering technical presentations and leading business value sessions.
?At least 6+ years of Cloud platform Engineering experience including architecting cloud solutions at an enterprise level.
?Experience with structured enterprise architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premises-to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps.
?Knowledge of technology solutions, computing solutions, and the enterprise technology buying and evaluation process.
?Hands-on experience in deploying and managing containerized workloads across GCP. Extensive experience within Kubernetes, specifically within GKE, building and managing clusters and containers.
?Experience in AI/ML applications (e.g., deep learning, NLP (Natural Language Processing), computer vision, or pattern recognition), frameworks like TensorFlow, and Py Torch.
?Deep understanding of DevOps paradigms and CICD best practices, IaC, Terraform as well as cost optimization practices.
?Experience with Data storage, machine learning and AI based GCP services such as Vertex AI, Big Query, Bigtable, Spanner, Dataflow, Google Kubernetes Engine, or Google Compute Engine.
?Experience designing and developing big data processing solutions using Dataflow/Apache Beam, Bigtable, Big Query, Pub Sub, GCS, Composer/Airflow, and others.
?Experience in systems design with the ability to architect and explain data pipelines, Machine Learning pipelines, Machine Learning training and serving approaches.
?Google Professional cloud Architect Certification or other GCP certifications are an asset.
?Must have substantial federal government work experience ? led or contributed significantly to the Federal proposals, solutioning.

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
