The Security Architect will lead the security design and secure implementation of the technologies and services hosted within the Cloud and local data centers infrastructure. The position will report to the Director of Information Security at Solutran and work effectively with IT Infrastructure, Application Development and Product Owners along with Enterprise Information Security of our parent company. The Security Architect will have very strong interpersonal skills, be a self-starter, and have a desire to maintain company-wide visibility to initiatives related to technologies and services provided to our clients and merchant partners. The Security Architect is an individual contributor role with deep expertise in Security, Cloud, Banking and Transactional Processing .

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recommend and coordinate security strategies across teams, influencing senior leadership
  • Lead internal IT teams, Security Engineering, and business customers to analysis, design, and architect secure solutions that align to company policies and that can flex to scale with client and partner requirements
  • Define and utilize best practice templates and documentation to create and implement architectural designs
  • Consult with the business regarding problems and technology to understand challenges and find secure solutions with practical experiments and Proof of Concepts (POCs)
  • Work with Product Managers and Owners to plan and prioritize security-focused Security Architectural items for review and enablement of business features
  • Clarify the Security Architecture and assist with system design (where needed) for the development teams to support implementation and provide solution options to resolve security impediments
  • Perform design and architecture reviews to ensure all security requirements for a solution are sufficiently met
  • Educate team members on the security principles, technology practices, standardization strategies and best practices to create secure solutions
  • Interact with technical and systems owners to enhance security capabilities and help develop custom solutions to security gaps

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Security Architecture
  • 2+ years of experience in public Cloud Security Architecture
  • 2+ years of experience in banking and/or merchant transactional processing
  • Experience working with Cloud Security and governance tools, and server virtualization technologies
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects and teams focused on innovations and development of security solutions
  • Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure compute, network and storage compliance & security standards across an enterprise IT landscape
  • Hands-on technical expertise in Security Architecture, automation, integration, and deployment (DevOps)


Preferred Qualification:

  • Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure experience

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $101,200 to $184,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
