Location: Washington DC. Hybrid role.
Qualification:
Must be well-versed with advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices, and network management systems (Cisco products preferred). Excellent tier 2/3 network troubleshooting skills. Understanding and experience with virtual and software-defined networks. This position requires excellent problem-management and customer service skills. Works well with a small team, is a great communicator, and is customer-facing.
· Advanced working knowledge of various networking technologies, including but not limited to, Cisco switches, routers, access points, firewalls, and security solutions.
· Advanced knowledge and experience with IP, DHCP, and VLAN configurations.
· Troubleshoots network performance issues. Analyzes network traffic and provides capacity planning solutions.
· Monitors and responds to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems. Interfaces with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
· Experience with cloud networking and wireless technology
· Knowledge of SDWAN, BGP protocol, and data center Cisco EVPN
· Provide overall data center networking support and troubleshooting in an enterprise environment.
· Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical team members, ensuring seamless communication.
· Lead design reviews and contribute to the development of scalable network architectures.
· Evaluate, recommend, and implement firewall strategies, ensuring robust information security.
· Diagnose and resolve complex network problems, optimizing network performance.
· Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to network configurations and topologies.
· Introduce and integrate cutting-edge technologies, enhancing our data center environment.
· Liaise with third-party vendors, ensuring smooth and swift client-vendor interactions.
· Cisco proficiency includes hardware and software diagnostic tools. This includes but is not limited to Cisco Digital Network Architecture (DNA) software, Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE)
· Experience with Infoblox software or other IPAM tool is a plus.
· VMware software-defined networking NSX-T is a plus
· Performs a variety of network engineering tasks and activities that are broad and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including hardware, software, and support facilities and/or equipment.
· Provides technical expertise with agency-specific security best practices and delivers policy-level standards and documentation.
Requirements:
One or more of the certs listed (must be active):CCNA/CCNP required. CCIE plus. VMware VCP NSX-T preferred.
Minimum 5 years' experience.
BS or BA in a related field or relevant work experience.
DOJ Public Trust requirement- If the candidate does not have one, must be eligible to clear.
