Network Engineer

Responsibilities & Qualifications:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineering Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support in the management and maintenance of our network systems, ensuring optimal performance and security. This position requires strong analytical abilities, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:*

• Assist in continuous monitoring of IT systems to maintain Sponsor accreditation.
• Coordinate engineering projects, conduct technical risk assessments, and resolve technical conflicts.
• Deploy and maintain network systems, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues to restore optimal performance.
• Gather performance metrics and proactively inform stakeholders when defined thresholds are met.
• Guide networking engineering efforts across hardware, software, and virtual infrastructure domains.
• Maintain up-to-date network topology drawings and perform moderately complex network designs and upgrades.
• Provide Tier-3 engineering and support for virtualization infrastructure, including virtual servers, desktops, and automation solutions.
• Plan network configurations for integration, ensuring effective integration and optimal performance.
• Prepare technical proposals for changes or new technologies, presenting to engineering review boards.
• Provide system documentation to support Authorization & Accreditation (A&A) efforts and review user requests for network upgrades.
• Support network life cycle stages from design to maintenance, utilizing network analysis tools to identify performance issues.
• Diagnose and resolve technical problems with overseas populations, directing or performing IT infrastructure installations.
• Recommend deployment strategies considering business priorities and provide end-to-end support for field networks and forensic capabilities.
• Offer real-time 24/7 on-call support to worldwide users and provide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for field users.
• Support forensic application developers and research new technologies to enhance existing systems.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in analyzing systems, troubleshooting network issues, and implementing corrective actions.
• Proficiency in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting network systems, including gold image hard drives.
• Experience in coordinating and performing security testing, creating network topology diagrams, and designing Routing and Switching systems (Cisco expertise required).
• Familiarity with L2/L3 VPN implementation, Aspera Enterprise Server, automation solutions, and Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) management.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization infrastructure, VMware vCenter, NSX-T, and Hypervisor deployments.
• Proficiency in using forensic software and managing Gateway Redundancy Protocols, network security, IP address management, and routing protocols.
• Strong understanding of LAN/WAN environments, TCP/IP protocol suite, and network monitoring tools.
• Ability to design, build, configure, and support Linux servers and virtual infrastructure, perform risk analysis, and conduct system monitoring and analysis.
• Experience collaborating with vendors on troubleshooting.
• A minimum of five (5) years' experience as a Network Engineer with a Bachelor's degree.
• Active/Current TS/SCI with Polygraph

Highly Desired Skills:

• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies like Cisco ACI and VMware NSX-T, and load balancing technologies such as FS BIG-IP and Citrix Netscaler.
