Position Summary:
Conceives, develops and provides counsel for web-based multimedia content and services for the department in support of the online marketing and communications strategies at UTHealth.
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Works in partnership with teams in Public Affairs and Development and communicators in other departments at UTHealth to accomplish various multimedia related projects.
2. Researches and generates ideas for multimedia strategies and develops related plans, tactics and materials for various formats, including video, photos and graphics; manages and implements multimedia projects from concept to completion.
3. Provides photography and photo editing services to produce materials integrated across a variety of multimedia formats.
4. Provides video production services including filming, conducting interviews, audio/video conversion and editing.
5. Designs and maintains multimedia content on official university website, intranet and social media platforms.
6. Maintains all media related equipment, facilities and supplies, while researching and recommending new media technologies to advance strategy; helps maintain a digital library of photographs, video, graphic designs and program collateral.
7. Adheres to University policy, standards and guidelines regarding use of social media, photos and videos.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
• Strong HD video/audio production/editing and photography skills
• Strong computer, writing and communications skills, including Associated Press writing style
• Proficiency with software packages including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with content management systems, social media knowledge and experience with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, YouTube, etc.
• Knowledge of project management preferred
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field.
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years related experience preferably with digital communications, photography, video and social media.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
