What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control and safety
  • Knowledge of housekeeping materials, supplies, and equipment necessary to ensure a safe work environment
  • Knowledge of budgeting and expense control to plan, implement and maximize expenditure of funds while maintaining and improving quality standards
  • Knowledge of employee relations to conduct and deal with employee issues in a proactive manner
  • Knowledge of organizational behavior and management theory and strong project management, leadership and practice development skills
  • Strong personal computer skills with experience in Windows based software. Experience using Microsoft Outlook or similar e-mail system software
  • Knowledge of all applicable Company policies and procedures, OSHA and environmental safety laws and regulations that governs the work environment
  • Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with Aflac’s senior management, internal and external business contacts, ability to exhibit and maintain professionalism in accordance with corporate standards

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 10 years of professional job related work experience, 5 years management experience
  • Experience must include 5 years in a managerial capacity leading diverse work groups and 3 years of strategic consulting and project management experience in a complex business environment involving multiple business issues

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drives facilities management operational initiatives and activities; directs and advises concerning issues affecting resource and energy management, facility design and layout, grounds, building and preventive maintenance, cafeteria, and dining management
  • Directs growth planning and the development of project plans, administration of construction contracts, construction projects and land acquisition; surveys and make recommendations as to physical condition of properties prior to lease negotiations and acquisitions; prepares cost estimates and oversees construction projects, and resolves construction related issues; maintains close contact with consultants, contractors, vendors, building officials, and WWHQ personnel during construction process to assure conformity to contract documents, codes, corporate standards, and design content
  • Develops an organizational framework and provides the necessary leadership to insure the ongoing availability of a qualified and motivated staff to meet current needs and planned future growth
  • Develops long-range visionary strategic plans and annual budget for the areas within scope of responsibility and ensures that operations are managed within authorized budgets; advises, develops, reviews and approves budgets, plans, and business goals
  • Reviews and interprets performance against operating plans and standards for the department; provides information and reports to subordinates on interpretation of results and approves changes in plans; presents monthly reports on performance, develops and presents matters requiring decisions to key management team for the division
  • Performs independent review of problem situations, develops solutions and implements action steps to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction; Reviews processes and procedures to streamline activities to enhance service turnaround time, productivity and quality; coordinates overall workflow of the business unit and ensures that workflow processes facilitate effective and efficient use of corporate resources and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Directs the development for all construction labor and equipment resources this includes, but is not limited to, scheduling, determining contractor costs, contractor availability and analyzing utilization for labor, and prepares and/or reviews recommendations for implementation;
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, HIPPA, building, fire, life safety laws and regulations; coordinates property management activities; Responsible for preventive and predictive maintenance on all building systems and infrastructure;
  • Acts as energy management systems coordinator; set and administer policies on waste stream reduction and recycling
  • Demonstrates a leadership role in safety by observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors
  • Coordinates and monitors training efforts to ensure the necessary education tools are provided to employees; identifies and communicates training needs and schedules with training department. Projects staffing requirements for the business unit. Provides direction for or performs coaching and counseling of employees. Coordinates employee development and incentive initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as required

Total Rewards

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $260,000.


In addition to the base salary, we offer an array of benefits to meet your needs including medical, dental, and vision coverage, prescription drug coverage, health care flexible spending, dependent care flexible spending, Aflac supplemental policies (Accident, Cancer, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity offered at no costs to employee), 401(k) plans, annual bonuses, and an opportunity to purchase company stock. On an annual basis, you’ll also be offered 11 paid holidays, up to 20 days PTO to be used for any reason, and, if eligible, state mandated sick leave (Washington employees accrue 1 hour sick leave for every 40 hours worked) and other leaves of absence, if eligible, when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being. Aflac complies with all applicable leave laws, including, but not limited to sick and safe leave, and adoption and parental leave, in all states and localities.
