About the Role:
Provide medical leadership for Medical Affairs strategy, planning, and tactical implementation for all Medical Affairs functions including launch planning, publication planning, data generation and communication, KOL interactions, knowledge management, medical education, advisory boards, and cross-functional support. Ability to bridge clinical, scientific, and business needs with the aptitude to translate and align business and scientific goals and objectives
Your Contributions(include, but ate not ,limited to):
Medical Affairs Strategic Planning
  • Work with key cross-functional stakeholders to develop strategic and aligned Medical Affairs Plans including launch planning for therapeutic areas of interest
  • Communicate and represent these plans within the organization. Continuously update plans and inform stakeholders of progress
  • Collaboratively develop a fully referenced scientific platform and lexicon supporting the foundational understanding of Neurocrine therapeutic platforms, describing their derivation, MOA, multimodal attributes and potential for treating various disorders with unmet medical need Gain endorsement of platform from internal and external opinion leaders and educate the organization on its content and use
  • Serve as the chair of the Medical Affairs Strategic Team (MAST) to ensure cross-functional alignment and tactical implementation

Data Generation
  • Serve as medical lead for establishing strategically aligned key areas of interest for IIT, collaborative research agreements, and Phase IV clinical trials
  • Direct and design collaborative research and Phase IV clinical trials
  • Serve on review committees for review and approval of investigator initiated and medical education grant requests
  • Provide medical input into clinical development and lifecycle management activities
  • Collaborate with Clinical Development to support clinical trials

Data Communication
  • Develop in collaboration with Medical Communications and execute strategically aligned publication plans for key therapeutic areas
  • Participate in congress planning including medical education, competitive intelligence
  • Establish working relationships with KOLs and payers to understand therapeutic landscape, data gaps and areas of educational unmet needs and garner feedback on key programs
  • Scientific and Medical Consultant to Internal and External Stakeholders

Serve as Medical/Scientific Subject Matter Expert
  • Provide direction for assigned products including (but not limited to) PRC, MRC, health outcomes plans, MSL activities, speaker programs, training, CME grant reviews or other internal key business processes.
  • Responsible for approval of medical and scientific content of Regulatory, Safety, Scientific Affairs, Medical Affairs and Commercial outputs for assigned therapeutic areas

Requirements:
  • MD required and 4+ years of experience in Medical Affairs or related pharmaceutical capacity.
  • Required experience: Clinical Practice experience in Endocrinology/Board Certified Endocrinologi
  • Excellent communicator with good team collaboration skills. Passion for education and addressing unmet medical needs in Endocrinology.
  • Expert in one of the relevant specialty areas preferred: Endocrinology, Rare Disease
  • Goal-oriented toward quality work and consistent attention to detail.
  • Writing expertise in the scientific or medical field
  • Experience in proactively engaging internal and external leaders while serving as the Medical Affairs representative for assigned programs
  • Ability to bridge clinical, medical, and business needs with the aptitude to translate and align business and scientific goals and objectives
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP), ICH, ICJME Guidelines, FDA and other international regulatory body requirements
  • Experience with budget management and development of policies and processes
  • Experience in Medical Affairs function
  • Comprehensive expertise in strategic job functions
  • Applies ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution in complicated and/or novel situations
  • Excellent leadership, conflict resolution, and mentorship skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and influencing skills
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines across a variety of projects/programs, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
  • Proactive, and innovative, with solid problem-solving/decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team and matrix environment
  • Influences internal/external business and/or industry issues that have an impact on Neurocrine
  • Sets broad picture and longer-term vision for department or project

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $241,100.00-$349,175.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 35% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
