Position Overview
The Sr. Manager of Product Quality is responsible for leading efforts relating to the continuous improvement of IT product and service quality. This role leads the Quality Assurance Center of Excellence and is the Product Owner of QA Test Management, test automation, performance testing, and data integrity tools. They ensure that development, test, and train environments are available for critical applications. They also provide quality assurance oversight, leadership, and hands-on help for key projects. In addition, this role manages programs and initiatives focused on improving the overall quality of IT applications.
Reporting to the VP of IT Applications and architecture, this role is instrumental in ensuring that AMAT IT consistently delivers high quality products that are fit for use and fit for purpose.
This position is based in our Atlanta, GA office in a hybrid capacity
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

Quality Assurance Center of Excellence

  • Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing policies, standard operating procedures, QA processes, and metrics; applying industry best practices, and developing automation test suite and processes to ensure achievement of quality goals.
  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality assurance best practices.
  • Provides training, mentorship, and assistance to QA Analysts.

Product Owner for Quality Assurance Tools
  • Ensures that QA Test Management, test automation, performance testing, and data integrity tools are installed, configured, and used as intended.
  • Coordinates QA Tool maintenance and security activities.

Quality Assurance Testing
  • Design and lead user testing, managing internal and external resources to facilitate communication and deliver actionable results.
  • Helps create and/or reviews and validates QA Test Strategies, Test Plans, and Test Cases for IT projects.
  • Monitors QA activities on projects to ensure adequate testing is being performed.
  • Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally.
  • Ensures that development, test, and train environments are available for critical applications.

Programs and initiatives focused on improving the overall quality of IT applications
  • Develop and maintain frameworks that ensure the Performance and Availability, Support, Usability and Adoption, General Administration, and Features and Capabilities of applications meet and exceed customer expectations.

Alignment of Product Quality Initiatives
  • Interact with business users, product owners, delivery teams, and other stakeholders to develop a strong understanding of IT applications and services.
  • Collaborates and works with Business Relationship Managers, the Service Desk, the Project Management Office, and others to identify Product Quality issues and needs across the IT organization.
  • Foster a culture of continuous Product Quality improvement, innovation, and customer-centricity.
  • Develops and implements methods to record, assess, and analyze Product Quality.

Qualifications
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Management Information Systems, and/or 10+ years related work experience.
  • 7+ years related experience with strong understanding of QA methodologies and software development lifecycles, with prior QA process improvement experience
  • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
  • ITIL Foundations Certification preferred
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) preferred

Work Requirements
  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
  • Hybrid work environment requiring up to 3 days in Atlanta office and for meetings/ conferences as needed.
  • May require up to 25% travel in North America

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Highly analytical and able to independently analyze test results and be confident making decision and recommendations
  • Experience with test automation tools, preferred but not required. Example: Tricentis, UIPath, QTP, Selenium, etc.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills to help with root cause analysis during application verification and defect review
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Understanding of Agile Software Development Methodology.
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project and Visio.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage simultaneous projects and shift priorities based on business needs. Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Demonstrate a hands-on, collaborative approach; works well in a team.
