Essential Functions:

  • Oversees logistics and order fulfillment functions, including managing a team of logistics professionals, maintaining positive relations with parcel carriers, and monitoring inventories.
  • Designs and assesses fulfillment and logistics processes and operational solutions. Identifies and evaluates the effectiveness of logistics methods with the goal of improving operational efficiency, which would result in higher profits for the company.
  • Supports supply chain management strategy through implementation of automated systems to plan and track material flow from customers through procurement to delivery.
  • Ensures company adherence and compliance to federal and state regulations and quality requirements.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams and leaders to determine feasibility and cost effectiveness and align carrier solutions with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Assess carrier-related data to generate insights and for operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Oversees contractual commitments, customer specifications, and related information to determine logistics.
  • Assess expenditures and other financial information to develop plans, policies, or budgets for increasing profits or improving services. Assesses financial impact of proposed logistics changes.
  • Negotiates carrier contracts, rates, and service agreements to ensure competitive and cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborates with operations and customer success teams to address carrier-related issues.
  • Oversees supplier and carrier transitions, ensuring strategic alignment with corporate goals.
  • Develops and sustains positive working relationship with suppliers and vendors. Interfaces and communicates with customers, transportation providers, and logistics services.
  • Develops streamlined, efficient method of product distribution possible.
  • Participates in product packaging design and testing to maximize shipping efficiency.
  • Stays abreast of freight practices and procedures and implements continuous improvement initiatives to address changing market or network conditions.
  • Develops risk mitigation plans to ensure continuous flow of goods.
  • Develop metrics and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Oversees logistics projects, ensuring successful completion of established deliverables and seamless communication to cross-functional project stakeholders.
  • Hires, manages, develops, reviews, and sets goals for department and staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, recognizes, and acknowledges positive and productive behavior, and provides constructive/corrective feedback for performance issues.
  • Manages staff in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Enforces adherence to Company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources and management in a timely manner on all employee relations matters.
  • Ensures all direct reports understand the performance standards of their department and have a clear understanding of their own individual performance.
  • Serves as both coach and mentor to staff in areas of problem solving, decision-making, process improvement, and personal growth.
  • Promotes career training and development of direct staff to support the ongoing acquisition and refinement of skills and knowledge, including job mastery and professional development.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related field, preferred.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of logistics industry experience with an emphasis on small parcels required.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of managerial or leadership experience required.
  • Supply chain experience required.
  • Import/export experience required.
  • Project management experience preferred

Pay Range: $98,000-$120,000/yr
