Come work at a place where we take pride in creating a workplace environment that values hard work, commitment, and growth.Job Description:Education: 8+ years' work experience in Indirect Tax with advanced knowledge in multi-jurisdictional sales and use tax law, concepts & policies Accounting, reconciliation, analytical and problem solving skills experience required Management experience preferred Vertex or comparable software experience preferredWork Experiences: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field of study required CPA or other certification preferredSkills: Experience with Sales and Use Tax required Ability to work well under pressure while consistently meeting time sensitive deadlines Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to interface effectively with individuals at various levels Ability to work well independently, as well as effectively contribute to a team environment Analytical with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills Ability to prioritize workload, meet multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast paced, frequently changing environment Strong Microsoft Office program experience, including Excel, Word; Accounting and Tax Research Software skills Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job dutiesResponsibilities: Provide thought leadership for comprehensive tax strategies across the organization to optimize taxes, enhance cash flow, and minimize risk Lead, plan and coordinate all aspects of the statutory audit and post audit protests Identify technical, legal issues and defend adverse findings Work closely with multi-department disciplines (HR, Legal, Operations, etc.) to mitigate tax risk Review legal contracts for proper language to mitigate Indirect Tax risk Train, support and advise business on Indirect Tax matters Manage the tax compliance process and ensures timely filing in all jurisdictions Research and provide resolution to issues with respect to Indirect Taxes Ensure the implementation and adherence to all tax policies and procedures Review the organization and preparation of all tax work papers and schedules as necessary Maintain tax knowledge by studying new tax regulations and directives; obtain tax opinions and interpretations; attend seminars; study proposed tax legislation Manage Indirect Tax audits; gather the necessary data to support transactions or tax positions; follow through to completion and correspond with taxing authorities as needed Actively contribute to the professional development of each Indirect Tax team member that is a direct report Maintain internal control documentation, effectively perform assigned internal controls, remediate internal control exceptions, and respond to internal and external audit requests Develop a thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures and safety rules Duties may change; team members may be required to perform other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements & Attendance: Regular attendance required Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties* Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behaviorFull timeEqual Employment OpportunityAcademy is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate with regard to employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other category protected by law.
