The Sr. Mgr. SC FSQA leads the strategy and implementation of high value approaches to supplier management as relates to the quality, Safety and compliance. Sr. Mgr. SC FSQA understands the opportunity for GLC as relates to improved supplier quality and will pursue ambitious improvements from a risk management and commercial perspective.
The Sr. Mgr. SC FSQA is the leader and developer of people and processes for the department. The Sr. Mgr. SC FSQA leads the organizational development of the function, develops systems, processes, ways of working to increase efficacy and oversight to realize benefits and support for other departments.
- Leads all supplier FSQA aspects relating to Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory for Great Lakes Cheese.
- Liaises cross functionally with Procurement, Customer Service, Sales & Sales Operations, through Food Safety and Quality operations at all Great Lakes Cheese manufacturing facilities.
- Leads/Supports for the GLC supplier FSQA team on the day-to-day experience for all supplier FSQA aspects; including all information requests, and customer/consumer quality complaints.
- Leads/partners on all supplier related product recall, withdrawal, crisis management with cross functional teams on process development and execution when events occur.
- Partners with cross-functional stakeholders and FSQA/Regulatory SME peers to ensure and manage any supplier related requests to provide timely, responsive dialogue and satisfactory response.
- Collaborates and sets the strategy with Quality in Design, I.T., Quality Information systems and FSQA operations to design, develop and implement supplier related workflows and processes for best in industry speed, accuracy and efficiency.

- Monitors real life workflow to continuously implement improvements
- Ensure thresholds are effective to provide identification or alert for any potential emerging quality concerns
- Identifies system vulnerabilities for robust, executed solutions
- Identifies opportunities and implements improvement to deliver increased speed and accuracy of response.
- Leads the continuous improvement in raw material quality, sensory and functionality.
- Manage key suppliers in continuous improvement activities for improving overall quality performance.
- Leads the GLC supplier FSQA team in managing the GLC supplier deficiency reporting system.
- Support Procurement in the Annual Supplier Contract Process, Supplier Approval and Supplier Performance Assessment.
- Leads the GLC supplier FSQA team to implement metrics for Supplier Performance Dashboard's and reporting
- Support R&D, Operations, Marketing and Procurement with raw material projects/initiatives.
- Leads the GLC supplier FSQA team in managing raw material specifications.
- Support/lead the internal cheese grading program development where cross functionally agreed/supported
- Manage new projects as assigned.
- Define, coordinate, and oversee projects to completion.
- People leadership responsibilities including but not limited to development, defining scope of work, and assessment/selection of talent.

- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
- Bachelor's degree in related field and/or 5 years of food & beverage management experience
- Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.
- Ability to administer a proactive management approach.
- Ability to provide leadership, support, communication and direction to personnel relating to quality issues.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- 25% or more travel based on business needs
- Leadership experience partnering with or leading corporate, management, supervisory, hourly and executive teams.
- Statistical, SPC, SAP experience.
- Master's degree.
- Food science experience.
- SAP experience.
