Job Title: Sr. Ground Radar Electronic Technician - Documentation Work Location: Norman, OK Term: Full Time Program: RMSS Job Summary: Centuria Corporation is seeking a Sr. Electronics Technician, to support the National Weather Service (NWS), Next Generation Radar (NEXRAD) Radar Operations Center (ROC).
This candidate will be supporting the Configuration Management Team and the 159 Doppler weather radars and wind profiler radars that provide critical tornado and severe weather warning observations across the Continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Azores, and Korea. The team is involved in every phase of the hardware and software lifecycle across business and technical applications; they also provide facility support, program management, and quality assurance. This contract involves customer touch points within NWS, Department of Transportation, and the Air Force.
The Sr. Electronics Technician - Documentation will be responsible for assuring the successful completion of deliverable documents for the RMSS program in accordance with Task Assignments, Client's expectations and Centuria best practices. These engagements typically involve the analysis, design and implementation of IT and radar infrastructure initiatives.
The successful candidate will use a command of technical writing and editing using best practices on word processing, spreadsheet, graphical and presentation tools as well as providing client interaction to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and responsiveness. The Sr. Ground Radar Electronic Technician - Documentation will work as part of a team on client engagements with minimal direct supervision and may be required to oversee the work of others.
Job Responsibilities: Strong command of the English language to include rules and usage. Expert at Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint applications. Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
Apply interpersonal skills to communicate with both technical and business oriented individuals. Strong communication and technical writing skills. Ability to support projects with minimal supervision.
Ability to multitask and prioritize. Job Requirements: An Associate Degree in Communications, English, Electronics Technology or similar field is desired. A Bachelor of Arts degree is desirable.
Relevant technical experience may be substituted for education on a case-by-case basis. Engineering technician experience includes working with engineers in prototype design development and testing. Electronic technician experience includes operation, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic systems and equipment.
Experience in writing and revising technical documentation for electronic and electro-mechanical systems and equipment is desired. Knowledge of maintenance and operation procedures of systems and equipment is desired. Knowledge of data processors, software and firmware applications, and computer systems is desirable.
Knowledge of radar related systems and equipment is highly desirable. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat is highly desirable. Some travel (<10%) occasionally required.
At least one years experience in writing and editing technical documentation is desired. Experience in writing and editing technical documentation on radar equipment is highly desirable. Knowledge of the modification and documentation processes is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Adobe Frame Maker and Acrobat is highly desirable.
