Job Description
University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Parking - Electronics Technician 1
Under direct supervision. Maintains and repairs electronic devices and other equipment; maintains parking lots and surfaces; perform related work. Applies skills and job knowledge in area of specialization; may adapt procedures, operations, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet needs of area of specialization; may work on non-routine tasks; resolves issues/makes working decisions within area of specialization or responsibility with minimal supervision. Enforces parking regulations through contact with public and issues parking citations and impounding of vehicles, as necessary. Outdoor work in all seasons and conditions with frequent walking and standing. This position coordinates with OUHSC Facilities Management and various outside vendors and services on special maintenance projects.
Duties:

• Performs preventive maintenance on electronic and mechanical systems throughout the campus.
• Establishes and maintains a preventive maintenance program for equipment; replaces worn and broken components.
• Maintains an inventory database for parking maintenance parts, equipment, and materials; prepares work order forms and requests for materials.
• Surveys parking garages, garage booths, and surface lots for maintenance and repairs and completes as needed.
• Performs the preparation and painting of surfaces; lines out and stripes parking areas; monitors and reports on unsafe conditions in parking garages and surface lots;
• Performs installation and maintenance of signage in and around garages and surface lots.
• Performs daily parking meter maintenance including repairing and changing batteries.
• Performs collection of funds, generates collection audit reports for pay-per-plate units and meters, following audit procedures.
• Enforces parking regulations through contact with public and issues parking citations and impounding of vehicles, as necessary.
• Assists customers with changing of flat tires or stalled vehicles.
• Determines the need for various supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to complete tasks.
• Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.

Job Requirements
Education: High School diploma, GED, or trade school certificate.
Experience: 12 months experience in general electronics.
Preferred: Basic understanding of electronics; Knowledge of general maintenance procedures and techniques; Knowledge of safety practices and recognizing hazards; Ability to use hand and power tools; Excellent driving record; Outstanding customer service and communication skills. Excellent physical condition: Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 60 pounds; Ability to climb, crouch, bend, or stoop; Ability to push or pull. Familiarity with The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center layout and building locations. Able to work special events outside of normal working hours. Overtime work may be required.
Skills:

• Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
• Experience with basic electrical systems, electric power tools, and hand tools
• Read and understand complex written materials such as blueprints, metrics, or technical manuals
• Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
• Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

Working Conditions:

• Physical; Ability to engage in repetitive motions. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Environmental: Standard office work environment.
