About the Role
Workday is seeking a Senior Global Sourcing Manager on the Technology Sourcing Team in the Global Procurement Office (GPO). This person will assist with the execution of IT Infrastructure strategies, with a focus on Public Cloud engagements and related projects.
Generally, the Senior Sourcing Manager will understand business/company requirements and apply Strategic Sourcing practices to support the business. Responsibilities include performing spend and market analysis, conducting Requests for Proposals, negotiating contracts, and fostering business and supplier relationships. The Senior Sourcing Manager will also identify strategic improvement opportunities (e.g. introducing new technologies, cloud cost optimization, contract consolidation) and be a key driver in process-improvement initiatives. Finally, the Senior Sourcing Manager should also be able to assist with auxiliary Sourcing requests in related technology categories such as Software/SaaS, hardware, and data center.
The Sourcing Manager should have Sourcing, vendor management, or supply chain experience, and familiarity/experience with Technology procurement is required.

About You
Basic Qualifications
- 10 + years of direct experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Sourcing
- Experience and interest in Public Cloud and IT Infrastructure, (e.g. servers, Routers, switches, Data centers, Software, etc.)
OR (combination of below experience & education)
- 10 + years of combined experience working in Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Business, and / or Finance
- Experience and interest in Public Cloud and IT Infrastructure, (e.g. servers, Routers, switches, Data centers, Software, etc.)
- Bachelors Degree
Other Qualifications
- Demonstrated Sourcing experience leading RFx's, conducting supplier management activities, and managing a Sourcing category with a focus on IT Infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of Cloud financial management ("FinOps") practices and concepts
- Executing advanced standard Sourcing and Category Management concepts, practices, and procedures
- Demonstration of critical thinking, by translating, analyzing and creating solutions from advanced financial modeling and data analysis.
- Advanced understanding of contracts and contract management
- Advanced at developing and executing negotiation strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, persuasive, and results-oriented, with a can-do attitude in meeting deadlines
