Job Description
The Sr. Global Commodity Manager of Procurement Construction - Real Estate Operation (REO) is a dynamic and results-driven leader who will direct, develop, and implement the necessary functional and process competencies to plan, source, purchase and deliver world-class product. Key activities for this position include, developing category strategies, risk mitigation, market analysis, RFx development, negotiation planning, competitive price and cost analysis, financial analysis, contract development and supplier management. We are looking for a passionate, driven, visionary leader with a track-record of performance.
The REO Sr. Global Commodity Manager will work with the various Facility Operations teams, Eng. Teams, and Construction teams that support R&D and Manufacturing along with developing new sourcing strategies. The REO Procurement organization is responsible for assessing, sourcing, and managing WD Real Estate Operation suppliers, supporting WD's technology and operational requirements globally.
The incumbent requires to develop and maintain strong collaborative and cooperative working relationships with team members across different functions and at different levels within the organization. The position requires enthusiasm, passion, attention to detail and a desire to lead high-performance teams.
Position Description: Reporting to the Facility & Construction Sr. Director of Global Indirect Materials this person will lead and execute Strategic sourcing Projects, Complex Procurement Programs, and vendor management activities for assigned Facility and Construction categories and projects of low to high complexity scopes.
Responsibilities:
  • Act as the business owner for his or her Facility categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business entities. This entails owning forecasting, monitoring, understanding and reporting on the Facility category and construction industry, along with responsibility for driving strategic projects to achieve business objectives.
  • Build and maintain (partnering) effective working relationship with assigned stakeholders.
  • Ability to review and analyze data to determine sourcing opportunities based on best practice methodologies.
  • Develop short-term/long-term category planning for both facility and construction, implement sourcing strategies for assigned categories following a standard Strategic Sourcing methodology.
  • Capable of forming and driving Commercial, Technical bid reviews.
  • Drive and develop the RFx process through to completion; including requirements gathering, identifying RFP criteria, scorecards with criteria and weighting, bidder's Proposals.
  • Conduct high impact eSourcing events where applicable (e.g., eRFX).
  • Capable of Developing and constructing Agreements.
  • Solid negotiation skills on both Terms and Conditions plus cost targets (BATNA).
  • Full understanding of Total cost of ownership.
  • Contribute to the departments KPIs, including driving significant cost savings that contribute to the annual targets
  • Help identify areas of risk for the business (i.e., delivery of service, quality, performance, timeline, warranty, governance); make recommendations where applicable.
  • Full understanding of Business Continuity as it relates to Facility and Construction.
  • Ability to insert oneself into business and recognize areas that require improvement and make recommendations for efficiency gain.
  • Partner with key stakeholders and assist in development of approved and preferred vendor lists for assigned categories.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop requirements and strategy to identify suppliers, establish SLA/KPI requirements. Measure supplier performance against contract SLAs and expectations and initiate corrective actions in the event of missed expectations to resolve any performance issues.
  • Drive Supplier Review Meetings with key suppliers and senior level Align stakeholders and provide input on performance and future needs/strategic planning.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal customers / clients as well as vendors.
  • Ability to excel under pressure while dealing with changing priorities and timelines.
  • Manage compliance to contracts.
  • Support savings tracking processes and participates in special projects as needed.

Qualifications
  • College Degree in business administration, engineering, supply chain management, finance or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in REO with Strategic Sourcing & Category Management.
  • Solid team player; can work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment and with those contacted during the course of work
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail, oral and written communications skills
  • Fluency in English and other languages required based on regional assignment.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, accountable, passionate, and can keeps to deadlines
  • Multiple Commodity categories experience is a plus.
  • Procurement tools - Oracle, SAP
  • CPM, CPSM, or APICS Certification is a Plus.
  • Or any other Procurement related courses are a Plus.

  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.
